Possibilities of Artificial Intelligence-Enabled Feedback Control System in Robotized Gas Metal Arc Welding

In recent years, welding feedback control systems and weld quality estimation have been developed with the use of artificial intelligence to increase consistency robotic solutions. This paper introduces utilization an intelligent system (IWS) for controlling process. this study, GMAW process is controlled by a backpropagation neural network (NN). The input parameters; root face gap, measured laser triangulation sensor. NN trained adapt output wire feed arc voltage override power source, in order achieve consistent quality. offline specific parameter window varying conditions, testing performed on separate specimens evaluate performance system. butt-weld case explained starting from experimental setup training IWS, optimization operating principle. Furthermore, method create IWS explained. results show that can conditions seam outcomes. using as tool was successful. indicate increased number sensors could be applied measure IWS.
